So, does anyone know of any other music discussion forums out there? I've found a few in the past, but they weren't very active.

the record for the higher number of people in the metacritic forum is 8, so i think that its not necessary to create other forum rooms.

oops i think i've read his post a little too fast. The indie rock section and the best of 2007 section are the most popular.

I think Shadrach wants to know what music-related discussion forums people visit besides Metacritic, and we may have that thread somewhere, but I don't have time to search.

I go to the Alt Country Tab forums and Last Plane to Jakarta forums.

it's more informal, you can't bump old threads or anything, but there's some decent discussions from time to time

It seems that it's the case...I don't know about a better forum than MC.

RYM (rateyourmusic.com) has decent discussions occasionally, and Something Awful's "No Music Discussion" is occasionally worth reading (but it does take $10 to become a forum member.) However, sometimes NMD is so bad that the thread in another forum making fun of it is way better for music discussion.

So yeah, MC is probably the best forum for music discussion, in my eyes. I think if LastFM had a centralized forum community, that might have a few gems among all the folks who post there.
