This was one of my favorite threads from last year, and there have already been some awesome individual moments in 2009. Some favorites so far for me: Throwing Bones by The Phantom Band- at 3:04 when the low voice comes in in the acapella-ish section. Folk Song Oblivion by The Phantom Band- The line "You've got a voice so loud, you move the mountainside", I love the way his accent comes in a bit stronger than it usually does.
Radio Kaliningrad by Handsome Furs- Right at 3:22 where he lets out a short "woo" before the chorus.
Fangela by Here We Go Magic- The percussion that comes in right after he first sings "Fangela"
Inside/Outside by Bruce Peninsula- After the song speeds up when the first call and response part starts. As well as the "treat you as the yellow bellied dweller that you are" line.
Steamroller by Bruce Peninsula- The last 20 seconds.

Agreed with this. What a great chorus on "Folk Song Oblivion". Although, I like the following line more, "The last parts I played, were the hardest parts I ever played....I ever played".
There are way too many on the Animal Collective album, but I absolutely am in love with the second half of "Daily Routine" where everything is slowed down to a hazy crawl. Idiosyncratic AC. Also the chorus of "My Girls," to be obvious.

On Morrissey's "I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris" when the first chorus kicks in and the music swells up. "So I decided IIIIIIIIIIII'MMMMM THROWING MY ARMS AROUNDDDDD"

Heck yes.
Even though I'd have to say my personal favorite moment of that record is this verse on "It's Not Your Birthday Anymore":
All of the gifts that they gave can’t compare in any way To the love I am now giving to you Right here right now on the floor

I don't think I could love anything more than this sound.
------ Aren't there any girls out their who like good music? I need to and want to meet them. My favorite bands are Overkill River, The Nife, Songs:Ohio, and Nuetral Milk Hotel. Please let me know if your into indy music and like to go to show's and drink beer's and makeout.

The last 30 seconds or so of Franz Ferdinand's "What She Came For," when it morphs from a catchy dance rock number into some sort of crazy, fuzzed out surf metal song. Awesome.
In his trademark chipmunk vocals, he sings "And you, my love, don't fade away..." and then shit just goes nuts...it's at about 1:00 mark. It happens a couple more times with the same spine-tingling effect. Then the xylophone breakdown at 2:30 is incredible...it's really hard to pick good moments off the new album, it's littered with them.
A moment to challenge the "owwww" from "My Girls":
In the end part of "This Tornado Loves You" when Neko is softly repeating the title, and suddenly bursts out with "WHAT WILL MAKE YOU BELIEVE ME?" Classic.
'Up In The Clouds' by KEITH, when it transforms from the pulsating, jagged funk of the first two-thirds into some weird, eastern-sounding psychedlia that doesn't sound a million miles from Acid Mothers Temple. The chanting makes it.
The Backing vocals in I'm an Animal by Neko Case The repeated "I know, I know" in A Hand At Dusk by Swan Lake When the backing vocals come in at 1:06 of While You Wait For The Others by Grizzly Bear
There are probably a hundred others from Veckatimest

So glad someone else loves that moment in NCs "Tornado" - another moment on the newie is when in an otherwise swirling and moody cloud of a song ("Pharoahs") NC suddenly croons in a crystal clear swinging chorus (of sorts) "you said you were my bloooo, blooo babeeee...and you were riiiiiiiiiiight" - I have already irritated the neighbours bursting out into singing along with this bit!
Another far different moment is in "Vengeance is Sleeping" when I feel NCs heart breaking a little when she sadly whispers that it feels like to think you may be "nothing, nothing" and then repeats the same refrain later but this time in relation to realising "what thought's can do" - nothing specified but the implied hurt is emotionally obvious.
Yes, I do love "middle cyclone"!

I'm not sure whether I like the studio cut or the live performances of "While You Wait For the Others" better, but one thing the new version does trump the old version in is the breakdown where he sings "all we want... want... want..." then breaks free into the chorus. It was already one of my favorite moments from last year, and it's only gotten better.
