Hey, why not?

Animal Collective - My Girls
(A song by a band that I don't really like, but this has to be their best song, horribly addictive)

------
Aren't there any girls out their who like good music? I need to and want to meet them. My favorite bands are Overkill River, The Nife, Songs:Ohio, and Nuetral Milk Hotel. Please let me know if your into indy music and like to go to show's and drink beer's and makeout.

I'm with you on this, this song alone is keeping me somewhat interested in Animal Collective. I would be very surprised if it wasn't the concensus number 1 track at year end.

"Somalia" by K'Naan
"Not Your Saviour" by Peasant
"The Wrestler" by Bruce Springsteen
"New Imperial Grand Blues" by J. Tillman

These ones have stood out for me so far, as well.

Has anyone heard the new Peter Bjorn & John song?

It debuted on Kanye's blog of all places. His thoughts on the song are pretty hilarious.

With all that said, this is the best song I've heard this year.

Link to Kanye's blog/MP3 of song

Interesting new direction from PB&J.

That's a pretty killer song. I'd say it tops anything on the last PB&J album.

Maybe I should start reading that blog... Didn't he claim that U2's new album will be produced by will.i.am? Haha! Classic!

Do you mean Seaside Rock or Writers Block?

I only ask because I'm not sure if Seaside Rock is considered an actual album from them or not.

It's a nice little song. I swear, everything I've heard by them should be getting some kind of airplay.

EDIT: "Everything" being Writer's Block and this song...

And being better than anything on Seaside Rock isn't much of an endorsement.

I prefer "Brother Sport" myself. I just listened to it 3 times and will probably do so again shortly. "My Girls" is my second favorite though, plus it's amazing live.

I feel like this is going to be one of the most argued about songs of the year.

To me, it does nothing. One of the most appealing aspects of Bon Iver for me was his emotion and honesty, and I don't get that at all through the auto tuner.

Bono stated in a Rolling Stone article that will.i.am did a remix of one of their new songs and he said it was the best remix he's ever heard.

Take that for what it's worth...

Also, I'd agree that PB&J song is the best they've done since something off Writer's Block.

Also: "Anonanimal" by Andrew Bird is indeed, an awesome song. When the strings come in and the tempo picks up, I get chills, that part is just so awesome. Best musical moment in 2009 for me.

I'm with you. It sounds too much like that Imogen Heap song.

So, I just downloaded Blood Bank this afternoon, and I've got 6 listens in. I really like the steel guitar outro on Beach Baby and the steady piano beat on Babys. I don't know about Woods yet, I think Alecks is right about it being too Imogen Heap-ish...but overall, my favorite has to be Blood Bank. It's more forward and realist lyrically than anything on For Emma, which I think is really cool to hear.

So, for favorite songs so far, I have to go with:
Bon Iver - Blood Bank
Animal Collective - Summertime Clothes & My Girls
Kanye's new PB&J song, which may or may not be titled "Nothing To Worry About"
