Argentina is having a sorta renaissance in filmmaking, maybe a new wave, i dont know where the terms are or whatever but headless woman by lucrecia martell is absolutely mesmerizing.

i have nt seen celina murga's 'a week alone' but her 2004 film 'ana and the others' was a subverted road film which achieves an odd emotional depth.

finally 'liverpool' by lisandro alonso which uses long takes to capture the cold images and relationships of Argentina's south side.
