I hate to go from the sublime (Marcel Pagnol) to the ridiculous (this), but I was looking for my copy of "Allegro non Troppo" (I've talked about it in animation and foreign), and I couldn't find it and came across my bro's copy of this super whack/sick Greek flick from 1990.
"Singapore Sling" is a beautifully-photographed (in B & W) homage to the Gene Tierney "Laura", but it's all done up in an X-rated (not hardcore but extreme in multiple ways), S & M, disgusting story. If you have a strong stomach (I'm thinking Smenkharon), this is for you, but it will "mean" more if you know "Laura."
Has anybody seen this and isn't too embarrassed to admit it? I saw it with my bro and a couple of friends at a film festival back in '90. There weren't many others in the theatre, but it is a cult item now.
PS- If you haven't seen this but track it down, I HIGHLY recommend that you DON'T watch it FIRST with any loved ones. They might disown you or something worse.
