I'm trying to recall the name of a South American film made in the early 2000s. Cant remember which country. it was about a famous writer (or poet )who was gay; his life before and after a military coup, and his escape to the US (and his death there). I think he was gay. no, it couldn't have been about Pablo Neruda- I've combed the net and I can find any reference to any film made about him (and I don't think Neruda was gay). Does anyone have any idea what I may be talking about? It was a fantastic film and I'd love to find a copy of it- cheers

erm. Apologies to all South Americans and Cubans...the film I was after was 'After Night Falls', set in Cuba.
