Has anyone out there seen this phenomenal movie? And if so please share your opinions. I for one loved the movie and its portrayal of a family that's fallen apart due to the selfish wants of their own with an extreme disregard for the feelings of others.
I haven't seen this either, but I am interested. It was written by Noah Baumbach. He cowrote The Life Aquatic, which in hindsight was a fantastic movie. I like Jeff Daniels and always thought he was better in Dumb And Dumber than Jim Carrey.

I really loved this movie, mostly because I can relate to the emotions potrayed through the children. Noam Naumbach seemed to get under my skin at times, and without solving the issues allows me as the viewer to find closure myself. Does anyone know what the Whale and the Squid both sybolized? I have my own thoughts, but I can't put my finger on it.

I didn't completely by this one, though can't say I completely disliked it. Jeff Daniels was pretty good, though I found him pompous (referring to BREATHLESS by its French name for example) but I guess that was the idea. And when the kid played that Pink Floyd song at the school play wasn't plausible. He tried to portray the song as his own, but that song was too well known and he would have been outed on the spot.
