For Christmas, I bought my brother the Criterion box set called Rebel Samurai. It contains four films, all from different directors, which were released 1965-1968. The films are Samurai Rebellion, Kill!, Sword of the Beast and Samurai Spy.
I finally got him to loan me the movies, and I've watched all four of them one time each. I thought that I'd discuss each of these films and try to put them in some order of what I think about them. The problem is that they all seemed pretty close, quality-wise, so now I'm thinking that I need to watch them all again before I tackle this.
My first impression is that I like Kill! the best, even though Samurai Rebellion has the best reputation. Has anybody else seen any or all of these films and wants to discuss them, or perhaps some other "rebel samurai" films? I'm going to borrow Sword of Doom from my bro next.
"Naked Woman, Naked Man Where did you get that nice sun tan?"
