Some people on the IMDB forums are nuts. Some guys even compared Disney's Aladdin with Hitler!! They even said we should boycott Aladdin because it takes place in Iraq and stuff? Can you believe that?

I can believe it, but what they're doing is just trying to stir up trouble and cause fights. There's always been people saying the most outrageous stuff just trying to push people's buttons. We have tried to get rid of that stuff here, at least if it's blatant, but it hasn't happened very often.

In this respect it is the members of the Metacritic Forums that deserve much of the credit for making this a more civil community. Trolls aside, not everybody is going to see eye to eye on every film, or CD, or book. The membership here does a good job of not letting differences of taste and opinion turn personal. Now Playing: Minnesota Public Radio's 89.3 The Current...so far it's living up to much of the hype, but really a listing for what's playing RIGHT NOW would be very helpful...

Thats why I am using the IMDB just to search for info on movies rather than read reviews or pay attention to their ratings they have on each movie page. Basically, when I see a guy on their boards ranting about how much they hate a movie I just think that most of them are a bunch of jerks.

I tried to join in a discussion on the Casino Royale message boards describing saying why it isn't a good film. I was promptly (within minutes) attacked by about 4 users notifying me that I wasn't intelligent enough to "get it." A James Bond film...
