I am looking for certain critics that write with a deep knowledge of film. I would be interested in reading either reviews or academic papers written from an educational background so I can not only begin to learn more about film techniques but get a good feel for comparison. I would love to read from critics who can identify inspirations and certain techniques that writers, directors, cinematographers, and everyone else involved, use to make us the movies that we love and enjoy. I go to the university at Buffalo but getting into film studies classes without majoring in it is next to impossible but I have a huge desire to further my knowledge of film and would appreciate if anyone knew of any particular critics that delved further than just a short summary and a score.
