So Metacritic covers Edelstein but not Knowles...One out of 2 ain't bad, is it??? This site seems to cover traditional media and just a handful of online-only critics like ReelViews. Harry is funny, though.

are there any david edelstein fans out there?
Yes, one Edelstein fan right here. I like reading his reviews on Slate, but I particularly love hearing him on NPR. It doesn't look like Metacritic includes "Film Comment," which is the film journal for the Lincoln Center Film Society. They have outstanding writers (and often esoteric topics and films); one of my favorites there is Amy Taubin.

Film Comment is a comprehensive and informative magazine on movies. Film Comment showcases some of the finest film journalists such as Kent Jones, Jim Hoberman, and Graham Fuller.
CinemaScope and CineAction are two other literary-style journals that feature acute writers. CineAction is edited by Robin Wood, who is filled with profound knowledge of film, literature and art.
