Jagjaguwar just signed these guys last year, and the album is due out in a month or so. It is streaming here.
This is just blowing me away right now, kind of a blend of Grizzly Bear with Low? Much more rocking in parts, though (some awesome guitar leads). Just gorgeous melodies. Already think it might be in my top ten of 2007...way too early to be sure, though.
Thoughts?

This is a great album all the way through. I'm sure it will be on many year end lists. I could go on and on about them, but I shouldn't, because I don't want people to listen to it with too high of expectations.
Also, I want to add that this band has produced for Islands, Wolf Parade, and Stars. Don't ask which recordings, because I don't know.
Yay, glad to see you guys like it. After listening to the album quite a bit over the past few weeks, it has yet to lose its charm for me...I think my favorite song is 'And You Lied To Me'.

OK, after listening to this album quite a bit over the past month, I must admit that it is incredibly front-loaded. I feel like the first five songs are perfect, both individually and as a sequence...but after that the album takes a noticeable dip into more normal territory, nothing too spectacular.
As a result, it probably won't end up in a top ten list for me, but I would still recommend it to anybody, as those first five songs alone are definitely worth the price of admission (and the second half of the album isn't bad, just not as grand as the first).

I agree with that. Theres about 4 songs I love, but everything else is too straightforward and bland. It's a pretty good album, but more than anything it shows the huge potential that this band has.

It's o.k. Everyone's entitled to change their mind. I changed my mine about Neon Bible (now I like it). BTW, I love this album as well. They're kind of like the bastard offspring of Pink Floyd and My Morning Jacket.

I finally got this and have been listening to this for a few days. I unfortunately agree with many of the reviews I've read. The first four tracks are excellent, and the final four are dull in the worst way. For those of you that spent more time with it, does the last four tracks finally come around with repeated listens? I can't imagine they do.

on the first few listens only the last two tracks seemed to lag a bit, but that's only if i'm really being picky. as a whole I think it's something that I can put on and listen to over and over, which is saying a lot because I rarely end up doing that.
