I think you'll find that a lot of MC users at least know of them, though I don't believe their appeal is extremely far-reaching. Some can't stand their twee vocals and ornate instrumentation. I can dig some of their more bombastic songs like "Nevereverdid," "It's 5!", and "Heart it Races." I admit I've only listened to their last two albums "In Case We Die" and "Places Like This," but I definitely prefer the former. I wonder if anyone else can understand this, but "In Case We Die" strikes me as an album that is conceptually very similar to "Funeral." Besides the obvious morbid themes, the two share a sense of urgency, interplay of male and female vocals, grandiose use of instrumentation, opening with a song that starts off weighty and gains momentum, and closing with a song that does the same thing in a more graceful way. Maybe I'm the only one though.

Wishbone is the most adorable song in the world. Maybe You Can Owe Me is a beautiful one. I haven't listened to anything outside of In Case We Die, but I've heard the follow-up was ass.
It pays to kill anyone who has information.

I particularly enjoy "The Cemetery" and "Tiny Paintings". Great songs. Random note: Sprint used "Souvenirs" on one of their commercials. I was shocked when i heard it.
