Despite the worst album title possibly ever, the new Spoon is fantastic. I'd name a song or two as highlights, but really every tune is very good. Its very different than Gimme Fiction and actually sounds closer to Kill the Moonlight to me in song structures, just with horns, synths, and a little guitar noise mixed in. And unlike Gimme Fiction, its absolutely solid from start to finish, and doesn't drag towards the end of album. Fans of Kill the Moonlight will adore this.

Not the biggest Spoon fan, but I did enjoy Kill the Moonlight quite a bit. But after one listen to GaGaGa the only song that I really liked was the first one. I'll definetely give it another listen though.

That "Cherry Head" song is the best one. The triumphant horns just lift that song above all the rest.

I think this one sounds more like Kill the Moonlight than Gimme Fiction, and while I prefer their Gimme Fiction-style (with the almost creepy songs like "Was It You?), I think the new one is their second best album. It's better than Kill the Moonlight if you ask me.

Yeah, but what in the hell were they thinking with a title like that? I mean, how could anybody say that that would be a good idea?

The albumtitle is pretty ridiculous but it doesn't bother me. The quality of the album makes up for it. I looove this.

I think this is a great Spoon record. Hardly a contender for album of the year, but certainly an album that I'll love, I'll dance to, and I'll enjoy. And fuck it, isn't that what music's all about?

I've heard some of this, and it sounds pretty great. I don't believe it's possible for these guys to release a bad album (or a truly bad song for that matter).

I'm officially giving Spoon the award for best band of the decade. Take that Radiohead!

I recently came to the realization that they're in my top 5 (if not top 3) favorite bands ever. They're too consistent and just fucking good!

What HAS Radiohead done this decade, anyway? They've been sitting on their laurels for most of it.

Meanwhile Spoon's been kicking ass and taking names.

This album is great, not a single bad track and excellent pacing. My favorite tracks are: Eddie's Ragga, Don't you Evah, Black Like Me, and My Little Japanese Cigarette Case. This is going to end high on my year end list. Overall, I'd give this album an impressed 90/100

I've got to say that this is pushing Girls Can Tell for my favorite Spoon album. I agree with others, that their past 4 albums including this are all fantastic, and they're easily one of the most consistent bands of the decade thus far. Other than the Shins, the White Stripes, or the New Pornographers, who can touch Spoon for consistently being great over the past 7 years?

Oh, and by the way, it just hit me, their album title is for Georgia, Georgia, Georgia, Georgia, Georgia. Its just abbreviated. Go Dawgs!

I gotta say, after revisiting some of their earlier albums, I'm really starting to look at Spoon as one of my favorite bands. They may not have released one of my all-time favorites (though Gimme Fiction is certainly up there), but it's hard to beat them for consistently good albums. See, Ericg, we can agree on something!

I think Ga^5 is a very satisfying record. It has at least 5 great songs (personal pic: rythm and soul) and some others which seem to me a bit radio-friendly. Anyway if you like Spoon, i recommend you to check Deus. All their four albums fail to disapoint (except maybe their last one).Try to listen to "The Ideal crush" (one of my personal all time records), "Worst case scenario" and "In a bar under the sea" .

I loved Gimme Fiction so much I decided I'd actually go through the trouble of finding out how to download this leaked stuff (I'd always resisted, but I can't wait to hear this one). I downloaded some of the most mentioned programs, spent a couple of days trying to find it, and... nothing. Man, I feel like I'm 30 going on 60. Oh well, the anticipation for July 10 grows by the day Smiler

By the way, I'm hoping Spoon makes some stops on the east coast later this year. Now that I've checked Arcade Fire off my list of bands to see, Spoon are next in line.

Eureka! I figured it out (and the 21st century welcomes me with open arms). Listened to it while running this morning. Great album first time through. Not a bad track. Can't wait to hear it again later today after work. In order to match Gimme Fiction it's gotta get better and better over the months (and years). Sounds promising thus far.
