What do you think of the late, great Arthur Russell? I love World of Echo and like Calling Out of Context. I also think Another Thought is a great compilation. He will definitely be missed.

I've definitely got mixed feelings about Arthur Russell. He was doing some interesting work but there is a tendency to go a little overboard and into some cheese. Especially parts of that recent reissue, First Thought Best Thought, which veers between the sublimely beautiful and near Kenny G sounding shit.

I haven't checked out that one yet but when I do I'll tell you what I think. Have you listened to any of the records that I listed above? They might hold up better with you.
