I can't stand the absence of mentions about Pop levi in the Metacritic forum. There are huge hypes about indie pop and all, but when it's time to talk about real quality pop, no noise. It's not because the singer has not the exact same voice than other indie pop singers and that his songs doesn't contain 10 different mixed sounds randomly that it means he make bad music Wink Now stop listening panda bear and get punched by Pop Levi you little hippies. Red Face

Somewhere in there is a proper sentence, I'll let you know once I've uncovered it.

Thanks for the suggestion Tweedy, I looked him up and it sounds really good. I'm dl'ing his latest "The Return To Form Black Magick Party" and I'll get back to you with some thoughts when I listen.

Is your primary language french?

PS. I understood your post, don't worry about it... I don't have any specific writing tips to give you, I think CouldB was just being a dick that day.

I thought that much of it was a trip, egg, but I didn't hear all the songs all the way through. I'll try to rectify that, you son of a gun!

I've come to the conclusion that this album is superb. Atleast, from three listening back to back. I rarely will listen to an album on repeat, but I did with this one.

It reminded me of Ted Leo in his glory days Wink

Thanks for mentioning this egg, I'm forever indebted to you.

Really enjoyed the Pop Levi album. Some very nice hooks in those sugary power pop songs. A little glam, a little psych, reminded me a bit of the David Vandervelde album but much better. Only downside for me were the times there were too many layers of sound burying the vocals. All in all, an excellent album.

Guess what? Pop Levi will release his second full-lenght soon. There are three new songs from that album on his myspace page. I personnaly think that they are not as awesome as its singles from the first record, but it's still pretty interesting and catchy. I think the new album is called "Never never love".

I found it to be of good quality, but forgettable. It was near the top of my list early on in '07, though. There was just nothing that kept me coming back for more.

I find this to be the case with a lot of debut albums - good, but not "deep." I'll bet the second one will hold my attention a bit better.
