Hi guys,
Has anyone got any good ideas for an indie song either for walking down the ailse to (so has to either have a good intro i can use instead of the whole song, or else be pretty short), or to walk back down to. I've come up with stuff like 'today' by the smashing pumpkins, and have had a look through the indie lovesong post but havent found the right song yet. None of the ones i can think of are upbeat enough - there must be one out there!!
Any suggestions??

"Wedding Dress" by Mark Lanegan would be kinda cool, but it's not exactly upbeat.

I'd go with "White Wedding" by Billy Idol. I don't know that it really fits your indie criteria, but it is cool.

Not heard that Mark lanegan song so will look it up.
Not convinced about the Billy idol suggestion - although it would get some kitsch points!

In The Aeroplane Over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel, Do You Realize? by the Flaming Lips, Just Like Honey by Jesus and Mary Chain and When You Sleep by My Bloody Valentine. Personally, I'd go with Neutral Milk Hotel!

Elliott Smith songs are usually very good, but most of them are depressing.

eee.... Actually what's even more interesting is that it was the music for a movie trailer. A film starring Clive Owen called Children of Men. It's by the director of Y Tu Mama Tambien.
But it was really in a Cellphone ad, whoa that's a bit awkward.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not. "White Wedding" is a great tune. I think it would be totally cool to hear that at a wedding.

P.S. Can you possibly post any more consecutive messages?

Really, I would choose songs that have superb instrumentation and contain some originality.

I never said White Wedding was a bad tune and I wasn't being sarcastic I thought it was funny. I never meant any offense to you.

I dunno about upbeat, but I think "Vito's Ordination Song" off of Sufjan's Michigan would be good to walk down an aisle to. 'cept I think it's about a priest... oh well.

After much digging, I found the perfect tune:

"Big Boring Wedding" - Guided By Voices.

"Wicked World" by Jon Auer

The most-up-to-the-minute song about innocent, true love. Cool

"Forever Paradise" by the Undertones

The most beautiful, if haunting, song about living out the rest of your life.

Cool

"Naked Woman, Naked Man
Where did you get that nice sun tan?"
