Help me guess the name of a band - Topic Powered by Eve Community

It is a treasure hunt of sorts with no real prize, just fun.

Only detail I have is: a particular indie artist from Michigan known for quirky, off-the-wall, novelty-like songs. The band also has a myspace page which I am looking for currently.
