This album is pretty good. I liked Howl enough to buy it and I think this one might be a tad better. Although there isn't anything as gorgeous as "Howl" on here, there are some great songs mixed with rockers and ballads. Pretty solid album.

It must be decent (if not better), because the Pfork review is pretty negative. Nothing they've given a good review for this year has been very good, imo.

I liked Howl a lot, and what I've heard of Baby 81 on their myspace seems pretty good. I'll have to pick it up soon.

I'm enjoying this. "Window" is a killer track.

Well, it's certainly "good", but since the last album was "great", and it was completely stripped down, there's a noticeable dropoff. However, this new one does get better with each listen, so if you like this, go back and check out the awesome Howl. (Not to mention the first two. The first album is a classic.)

even if i love "Howl" i find their new album even better.
american x , window , all you do is talk , am i only some of my favourite tunes so far.
it sounds like a mixture of their 2nd & 3rd album.

I admit I had a big (maybe unreasonable) love for Howl, but listening to it back-to-back with Baby 81 only reinforced my idea that Howl has stronger songs. However, in concert, I imagine they'll all blend in fine together
