Well this is my first topic- and post on the forums outside of the Intro topic- so hello to you all.

Anyways, as you can see in the topic title I'm pretty new to this genre, so I don't know too many bands yet. At the moment, I'm trying to research and get as many songs from this genre as possible, but I'd also appreciate it if you guys could make some recc's to a new comer.

So far the Indy bands which I've listened too a lot is Sonic Youth, Pavement, The Pixies, Liz Phair's first few albums, and a few others.

So, what's a good, not-so overwhelming indy band that's reccomendable?

There are some suggestions here, here, here, here, here and literally, tons more in other places. Just go to the "Find" tab at the top of the screen and just search the site. There is a ton of indie-related stuff on this site, tons.
