I'll definitely have to check out the link when I get home from work. All the talk about this album here and elsewhere has really piqued my interest.

Yeah I only checked out the first three songs because I have to go to work now but I did like what I heard, quite a lot actually. The music is kind of poppy but with some great singers and even better melodies that really go somewhere. Boy, a lot of people on here really know their music. Wink

I grabbed this album when it first leaked (and then I proceeded to piss myself out of excitement... same happened with Tio Bitar) and I've been listening to it atleast a few times a week since then (and with the way I go through new music, that's a lot). I love this album and it's been my #1 album of 2007 since I first heard it. It's going to take a lot to dethrone this one. I can't find one thing on the album that bothers me or is boring.

An added bonus, I played it on a whim to momma and she loves it! (I've somehow managed to get her into dream-pop and shoegaze!)

I listened to it on myspace this morning as well. I like it very much. It goes well with my recent My Bloody Valentine kick.

I cant stand My Bloody Valentine, but I don't hear any shoegaze or dream-pop in this one at all.

I hear the shoegaze... unless I don't know what I'm talking about. I hear it in the way the vocals seem to blend on the tracks and how it's very lush and... idk. I'm really terrible at getting what's in my head outside when it comes to music. I need to work on that if I wanna write about music!

I don't hear it on every track either, but the opener "23" has dream-pop and shoegaze all over it.

given it a couple listens through, and I'm quite impressed. Misery is a Butterfly was a disappointment for me, not because of the direction their music was going but because it didn't seem to gel together sound wise. This is light years better I think in terms of cohesion. 23 is such a great opening track, and Silently is total pop bliss. some of the tracks don't hit me that hard, but overall the sound and flow of the music are top notch.

can't wait to see the critics gush over this

The whole album is absolutely astounding but yes, "23" is incredible. I LOVE THIS ALBUM. No matter how many times I listen to it it's incredible.

oh my god...

this is the album (from blonde redhead) that i've been waiting for.

I thought Misery Is a Butterfly had moments of brilliance, but I just couldnt get over the guy's annoying songs...

well, thanks to some friends at the local record store I was able to pick this album up today, and it's beautiful from start to finish. I'm even loving the guy's songs.

right now, this is my album of the year candidate... Im in OMG WTF mode at how amazing this album is...

Im excited for the rest of you that will get to experience it tomorrow.

Overall, I'd have to say the album is a really, really strong contender for AotY. We may disagree about Neon Bible, b0arder, but you were definitely right about this.

(also, nice infernal post count)

I'm surprised at how much love this particular album is getting in comparison to their others. I was listening to Fake Can Be Just As Good a couple weeks back and it was kicking so much ass.

Outside of a few standout tracks -- 2, 6, 9 -- this album only strikes me as OK. And I'm a pretty big fan of the band.
