I haven't heard any of it, is there a stream available somewhere? Whether or not I do hear it, I will probably just buy it since it is pretty cheap for a two-disc set and the reviews seem pretty good.

It's streaming on the myspace of the disc . I bought it without listening to it before and I think every Elliott Smith fan can do that since evrything he's done is great.

the only song i'm not a fan of is New Monkey, i think he was wise to shelve that one. the rest are freaking amazing and should have seen some kind of release a long time ago. Although I'd heard some leaked versions already, I'm really glad they got cleaned up and presented like this, and some of the songs that hadn't been leaked before (such as Go By) are the best on these discs.

Definitely better than I had expected (and I expected to like it plenty!)

It's basically a collection of songs, rather than an actual album, but there're some REALLY good songs. My favorites would have to be "All Cleaned Out" and "Either/Or" - though it's neat to have some old Heatmiser songs like "See You Later" and "Not Half Right" done acoustic-style.

Aren't there any girls out their who like good music? I need to and want to meet them. My favorite bands are Overkill River, The Nife, Songs:Ohio, and Nuetral Milk Hotel. Please let me know if your into indy music and like to go to show's and drink beer's and makeout.

It seems like this collection of rarities is actually pretty good. I have heard great things about it and I am looking forward to buying it. The glowing review by the A.V. Club certainly helps. They also have a great review of The Twilight's Sad aswesome debut.

I think they should have released it as a ten-track album, only filled it with the most killer tracks (Georgia Georgia, Talking to Mary, High Times, etc), sequenced them most fittingly, and released it as a new "2nd completed never before relased album" - the album that Basement on a Hill should have been!! It leaves a lot of the complicated arrangements he was doing on Figure 8 behind and really focuses more on the solo guitar driven melodies of his old stuff

The collection is completely astounding. High Times and Almost Over are amazing.

I don't understand why these tracks were never released before. I think any of these tunes would have fit well onto Elliott Smith or Either/Or. There is no difference in quality from the tracks that made the cut on those albums.

Does anyone know if there are any tracks out there from the XO and Figure 8 sessions that might be released?
