Out of curiosity, what type of venue did they play? I can't imagine them playing an arena.

When I saw them last year with Sean Na Na in Detroit, it was at the Magic Stick, which is a bar/pool hall above a bowling alley.

Haha, no it definitely was not an arena. It was at the Music Mill in Indy. Pretty much a bar, but much cleaner then most venues I've been to. Nice place, if you live near the area.

Seperation Sunday has really worked its way up for me. I think it might be their best album, which is saying a lot considering how good their discography is so far. "Cattle And the Creeping Things" and "Don't Let Me Explode" are for sure in the top five Hold Steady songs. Damn good stuff - I can't believe I missed them until Boys And Girls in America came out. Big loss for me. At least the buzz for that album finally convinced me to give 'em a shot.

I must say, I've tried listening to their albums more than once. I don't like the Hold Steady. I can't put my finger on it either, and that makes me angry, which makes me like it less. It makes me sad to not like it, but I can't help it Frowner

The Hold Steady aren't for everyone.

Wait a second...you're way too young to like The Hold Steady. Go back to them in 10 years after you've been high as hell, shivering, smashed, and born again - then let us know. Wink

(Don't mean to be a bad influence kendo. I've never done any of those things.)
