my parents decided to do a graduation video, like the whole slide show with pictures and whatnot.

theres where you guys come in, i need music to go with it

themes include
-childhood
-memories
-good times
-love

stuff along those lines

i think its gonna be divided into catagories
-baby
-childhoon
-adolescence
-teenage/highschool

something like that

i had these songs in mind

josh pyke - memories and dust
andrew bird - naming of all things
jack johnson - times like these
the shins - new slang
islands - jogging gorgeous summer

...those were just off the top of my head

any suggestions will be appreciated

Thanks!

"From Little Things Big Things Grow" by Paul Kelly
"Your Mother Should Know" by the Beatles
"Teenage Kicks" by the Undertones
"I'm a Man" by the Yardbirds
"Dear Dad" by Dave Edmunds (or Chuck Berry)
"Hey Man (Now You're Really Living)" by eels
"Colour My World" by Chicago
"Complicated Situation" by BRMC

I realize that many of these are OLD...but you and your family will love them, they should fit, or they will lead you in the right direction. Good Luck. Cool

How about "Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Outer Space" by Spiritualized... Such an underrated track.

Youth Group does a good cover of "Forever Young" that I am probably going to use for my graduation next year (I just won the elections for next year's senior class pres. Big Grin)
These songs might not sound specifically like graduation songs, but when I make soundtracks I try to capture the emotion rather than specifically allude to the event. Ya know?

Youth Group: "Forever Young"
Yo La Tengo: "Bean Bag Chair", "Big Day coming"
REM: It's the End of the World as We Know It
Eluvium: Prelude for Time Feelers or Radio Ballet
Four Tet: Slow Jam
Rascal Flatts: My Wish
Do McLean: American Pie
Explosions in the Sky: Welcome Ghosts, First Breath After Coma
Belle and Sebastian: A Century of Elvis
The White Stripes: We're Going to Be Friends
Bob Dylan: Blowin in the Wind

I don't know if ANY of these will work out, but if they do, let me know!
