I love the Hives. I though Tyrannosaurus Hives was brilliant. But I haven't heard much about the new album.

This has been out for about a month in England. I've read a couple of reviews, which are generally favorable. Does anyone from over the pond have this? How about anybody with an advance copy? What do you think of it?

Good topic. I live in north america too, so i still can't put my hands on the new Hives record. It's the only record i'm waiting for until the end of the year. And Tyrannosaurus Hives rocks.

Answering my own question, here's the link to their myspace page, where they're streaming a few tracks from the Black and White Album:

http://www.myspace.com/thehives

And, according to their website, you can buy the first six singles on iTunes, and then complete the album when it comes out November 15.

I'd still like some Brits to tell me what they think of the album.

Oooh, I like The Hives. I didn't realize this album was coming out so soon. I thought it was an '08 release for some reason. Cool.

I dunno about that. After a couple of listens, I like it. It may not be as good as Tyrannosaurus Hives, but I think it may creep into my top 20.

The ultimate test is the car test. Because I'm stuck with streaming it, I'll have to wait until it is released to make up my mind about it.

Now that it is out in the U.S., I've been able to give it the car test. I like it. Same spunk and energy. They try and branch out into new areas with somewhat mixed results.

I agree with your comment about Giddyup. I think it's a skipper.

I short, after one listen, it's not their best but it's still an enjoyable listen.
