Hi people,

I'm somewhat a decade late & 10 dollars short on the whole indie thing. But in the last several months, I've been on an indie discovery kick & this classic rocker thinks it's restored my faith in new rock music.

But I wanted to ask (& apologies in advance. This is likely a question newbies innocently ask then get poked for. It sure as hell happens in a prog rock forum I go to often. "What IS 'prog rock'?")- It seems there's debate on whether on not indie rock is actually a genre.

So what's the general consensus here?
