Here's a playlist I'm currently working on, and this really nutshells what I'm listening to these days. The problem is that I can't seem to find MORE music like this. I've gone through most of the lists here, and I browse the monthly Indie Rock Playlists on bittorrent, but I'm running out. Any suggestions:

1. Wintersleep - Weighty Ghost
2. Vampire Weekend - Oxford Comma
3. Interpol - Evil
4. Band of Horses - The General Specific
5. Arcade Fire - The Well and the Lighthouse
6. Interpol - Obstacle 1
7. Miracle Fortress - This Thing About You
8. Arcade Fire - Crown of Love
9. The Shins - Turn On Me
10. Sufjan Stevens - Decatur
11. Wilco - We're Just Friends
12. Neutral Milk Hotel - The King of Carrot Flowers Pt. 1
13. Andrew Bird - Imitosis
14. Miracle Fortress - Hold Your Secrets To Your Heart
15. Band of Horses - The Funeral
16. Neutral Milk Hotel - Communist Daughter
17. Modest Mouse - Little Motel
18. Death Cab For Cutie - Tiny Vessels
19. The National - Fake Empire
20. Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah
21. The Snake The Cross The Queen - Hey Jim
22. Super Furry Animals - Show Your Hand

So, I'm looking for anything that's marginally similar to anything from that list by different artists. Also, if you have any suggestions on how I could arrange the songs to create a more coherent flow, or if there are songs that should absolutely be on there, I'd be glad to hear em. Thanks!

You should check out My Morning Jacket if you haven't already. Especially their last 2 albums. Similar sound to Band of Horses but way better.

I suggest, off the top of my head:

Califone - 3Legged Animals
Pela - Drop me Off
The Wrens - Happy ... or Rest Your Head
Jayhawks - Bottomless Cup
Freedy Johnson - Bad Reputation
Josh Ritter - Mind's Eye
Beulah - Gravity is Bringing Us Down
Calexico - Deep Down
Kings of Leon - On Call
Two Gallants - The Deader
The Walkmen - Little House of Savages
Kamikaze Hearts - Defender ...or Deer Hunter (just check out the 'Oneida Road' album)

I focussed on the more "tailgate rock" aspect of your interests, but your list really runs a wide spectrum of music.

I really love everything on your list though, so you should seriously check out what I just mentioned if there is something you haven't heard before.

Thanks! I couldn't find any My Morning Jacket, although I have heard of them.

Shadrach, I couldn't find all the songs you mentioned, but I liked what I heard, and all of it (save for Kings of Leon) was new to me. Thanks.

As far as my list goes, if you've heard most of the songs, do you have any suggestions about the order of the playlist? I've been trying to arrange a discernible flow, but it's still not quite right. Any help would be appreciated.

That's a pretty awesome list of songs, man. I particularly like the Snake the Cross the Crown and Miracle Fortress inclusions. I just listened to Five Roses by Miracle Fortress 2 days ago and it blew me away.

Anyways, you seem to like some Americana, so I'm gonna recommend my favorite artist, Elephant Micah. He releases his own music through his website. Here are a few songs of his I think you'll like:

Elephant Micah - "Hawaii & the Derby Day" (from the album Elephant Micah and the Agrarian Malaise

Elephant Micah - "Mt. Neil Young" (from the album Your Dreams Are Feeding Back)

Elephant Micah - "Malaysia" (also from Agrarian Malaise)

Elephant Micah - "Minor's Refrain" (Agrarian Malaise)

He's got a huge catalog, and it's all incredible. I can't get enough if this guy. Luckily, he has 2 album in the pipelines for 2008, one of which is set for a March/April release. He's sorely underappreciated, so I encourage everyone to give him any support you can.
