Really good. I enjoy the occasional Sylvia Plath-esque imagery and it really strikes me as a really dynamic blend of post-rock and maybe even trip-hop?
I've grown to love this album. I still don't think it's solid all the way through because songs like "Kettering," "Bear" and "Two" blow everything else away, but it's a great album. I still get chills listening to it. The lyrics are really something else. I don't know about the best album of the year for me, but it's definitely the best cohesive album of the year so far.

I'm not gonna lie, I don't understand the hype for this album. The lyrics didn't particularly strike me as anything too special, and I just didn't feel engaged with this album when I listened to it.
Frankly, I found it boring. I mean, I wanted to like it, because it seemed like so many people are giving it really high praise, but it just hasn't clicked yet for me.
As a serious question, what are some of the things you guys are all liking so much about it? Maybe if I know what magic you guys are tapping into, I can try the same next time I give this a full listen.
The lyrics are really special and make this album somewhat literary - given the moody, textural rock thing it has going on, that's unusual. I think most bands opt for the cryptic imagery instead, but it doesn't get much more descriptive than the lyrics on "Bear."
The only thing I wish was different about this album would be that the vocals should be mixed higher! The lyrics are brilliant and I wish I could actually hear them when I'm listening...otherwise a gorgeous album and definitely top 5/top 10 material by year's end.
Ill start by saying this is my favorite album of the year, but it could be better. I don't understand why the vocals are mixed low either. The lyrics are beautiful and the music match them perfectly. Amazing album nonetheless.
This album is a dense listen, but it's definitely growing on me. I wish the vocals were mixed higher up too, but I guess that's what headphones are for.
"You're the shit and I'm knee-deep in it."

Maybe, just maybe, since the album is self-released, you can go and buy it? There's a link to stream the album as well which is what I did before deciding to purchase.
After listening to this a handful of times and enjoying it, I started getting into the lyrics. Which led me to wanting to understand what the hell this is all about. So I did some reading up on Sylvia Plath's biography via Wikipedia, and it really opened up the entire album for me. I recommend anyone interested in this album who isn't familiar with Sylvia Plath's life to do this. The whole thing is about her. And I've got to say this is an amazing album. Easily one of the best of the year.
