I found out about him through Beck's website where he posts mixes of 30 songs or so and edits them so they flow together seamlessly.

He played "Lithiummelodie 1" off of Kosmischer Pitch and I really enjoyed it.

I'll be looking for that one and Tierbeobachtungen (based on the fact the cover art is awesome, and I don't think this guy can do no wrong) when I go to the record store next time for sure.

I've also heard he's released an album this year on the Faitiche label under the name Gesellschaft Zur Emanzipation Des Samples. The album is called Circulation and Boomkat gave it a very favourable review.

Yeah that album's cover is awesome. I'll be on the lookout for the one you mentioned. I'm always down for more Jelinek.

Tierbeobachtungen
is my favourite. So much so that it is on my end of decade list. Jelinek released and album with a couple other dudes under the name Groupshow this year which is pretty terrific, but not quite up to par with his solo work.

Ah really? I heard about that album... through your blog, in fact. I had really liked what I heard on their MySpace but I didn't really pursue them much, but now I'm going to go check that out again. Cool stuff.

Anyways, I've been replaying Tierbeobachtungen a lot lately on a decent CD rip but I can't wait to get the physical thing so I can hear the crisper sound of this brilliant album.

Listening to/enjoying:

Sparklehorse + Fennesz - In The Fish Tank
Ben Frost - By The Throat
Talibam! - Boogie in the Breeze Blocks

Anyone else listening to/expecting any good experimental releases this fall?

Does anyone know of distributors in the US that are selling the Leyland Kirby LPs?

Sicnarf try Forced Exposure. That's where I got my copies of the Leyland Kirby LPs.

I'll go one better and provide the link to the page. The third double LP is not available yet but it will be. I'm interviewing Kirby for Tiny Mix Tapes. Should be very interesting.

Yes. I love it. I think it's much better than 8. Very very minimal though. Absolutely no percussion this time out.
