First off this album is named after a quote from Arrested Development (Maebe's marry me deflection used whenever someone asked her about her age in the movie business) which automatically makes it awesome.

Further more I have to say I find this album to be rather enjoyable. Which makes it one of three releases this year I've enjoyed (Stephen Malkmus, Why?).

That video is actually the whole reason I got the album in the first place.

Wasn't this released last year?

Ehh, since I'm commenting.. I'll just say that this album was really average to me. It was completely average in every way, very forgettable.

I actually enjoy this album a lot. Great songs, great voice. I've been meaning to pick it up on vinyl.

You've only found three new albums FROM ANY YEAR that you enjoy this year? That's insane...

Not a bad album. "Paris is Burning" is the highlight for me.

I would agree that the album doesn't really stand out. However, I got the chance to see her and her band live and it definitely stood out.

Great show, if you get a chance, see St. Vincent.

JGlass you and your semantics I'd hate you if you hadn't invited me to waffles <3.

Maybe it has sentimental value to me because I bought it and the Castle (kafka) at the sametime at this indie record store, who knows.

I like the songs and I like Annie Clark a lot, but sometimes I wish there was less clutter on the album. I think they should have been satisfied with less sonically. If you watch her Take Away Shows, they are fantastic and show her charisma, charm, wit and beautiful songs -- without all the crazy sounds.

bring on the "clutter" - i fucking love it. her willingness to experiment and take chances is what sold me on what was already a solid album to begin with.

saw her open for the national... she was a one person show, and she carried herself pretty well... though she didn't play any of my favorite songs. my favorites off of marry me are probably "all my stars aligned," "human racing", "the apocalypse song"...

Well, there's taking chances and experimenting and then there's destroying the great thing you have created. Granted it's hers to destroy, I just said that "sometimes" I wish they were presented a little more straightforward. I like noise and randomness as much as anybody, but for these songs, I think she would have been better off being confident in what they were without throwing in the kitchen sink. I think she will make a brilliant follow-up album and has unbelieveable potential, though.
