If I would have listened to For Hero: For Fool a little bit more it would have been in my top 3. I'm loving everything this band is doing right now.
P.S.- cLOUDDEAD also rock!

Agreed. On a similiar note, Dan Boeckner of Wolf Parade is on Middleclass Haunt which is pretty f*cking awesome. Unfortunately it's not on for hero: for fool Frowner...

I just saw them last night with TVOR. That guy is freakin' insane with those wacky hand gestures and manic stage presence. Great stuff. The best part is that I had no idea who they were, and now I see they have quite a following. Funny enough, they kind of remind me of some of Mike Patton's stuff, at least, in the shear madness of it all.

That album hit me hard right away. I pretty much had my list set and then in Novemember 2006 I listened to For Hero:For Fool, and it ended up #9 in my list. Subtle is so inventive - I love how he blurs the lines between rap and rock and electronic music.

That album is really good. I'm just now starting to discover all the different projects Doseone is associated with, ie - clouddead, 13 & God...I definitely admire his innovative style and willingness to experiment.

For Hero: For Fool was #2 on my list last year, but now I would probably put it at #1. The play count for it in my iTunes library is.......... terrifying.

This album is unbelievably great. It gets better with every listen! One of the few albums I compulsively listen to that is not by Radiohead.

Which is saying something.

yep, just like BContrat when I firt heard For Hero: For Fool it totally blew me away, moreso than any album has done for years.

It was my no.2 last year too, behind Ys, but it deserves a lot more love from others IMO

(PS. 'Indie Rock'?)

I've been listening to this and the new Modest Mouse a lot and it just struck me that "Middleclass Stomp" sounds a lot like a weird Modest Mouse b-side.

Love it. It was...5 or 6 on my list last year, I think.
So many different elements put together so well, it seems to make sense. "The Mercury Craze" is especially good.

This was my favorite cd of last year, so great. I saw them live when there was about 20 people there and I got to hang out with Dose a bit, he's a really really cool guy.
