Never heard of these guys before but I got the album and listened to it on my ipod while going for a bike ride. I was in a grocery store when track 5 "Rox" came on and I was blown away. A few days later, I was at the Mall Of America and heard one of the songs in a store there which usually happens to me after hearing a good album.
Track 3, 5 and the final track are my favorites so far off the album coming from a Clap Your Hands/New Pornographers/LCD Soundsystem etc fan.

a very good & interesting release. They formed in 2005 following the split of The Beta Band . ...with that album i think that finally found their direction.its better than the 2nd n third beta band album. upbeat , melodic , psychedelic pop with influences from every genre , as usual (beta band anyone?) fav tracks so far "tomorrow" , "glover" , "She Don't Love Me No More" , "robot man" etc.. sad that not many people pay attention to them

I have not got round to getting this yet. The Beta Band were awesome in the days of the Three Eps and had moments of quality following that. Does this album come closer to the Three EPs or some of the mediocre tracks that found their way onto the latter day releases by the Beta Band?

even if the music influences are so many (again) , that record is more straightforward n clear than their previous works. sometimes its sounds like the euphoric "primal scream" first period , sometimes like the late "super furry animals" period, sometimes like lost "beta band" gems...
its an album that definitely deserves a few listens and a place in our end of the year album list.
