Pat Boone.

Actually, this one might be lethal rather than room clearing.

Blech. Jazz covers of metal songs. I don't like either genre.

Pt Boone is not Jazz by any stretch of the imagination, even if Wikipedia says he is. Big Band, Swing, or most accurately crap.

I think Blueberry Boat could actually kill people if the dosage is too big.

I always found my love of My Bloody Valentine Loveless got some of the following responses before people left the room:

-Thats just droning noise
-you cant hear the words
-put something with a tune on
-get that **** away from the stereo

Its amazing how it turned my friends into sounding like they were my dad.

I can see where people would say that about MBV, and I'm glad that most people I consistantly associate myself with love them as much as I do.

But I've noticed, first hand, that Frog Eyes does the trick admirably.

Andrew WK - 'I get wet'
Maldoror - 'She'
The Locust - 'Safety second, Body Last' (although it's mercifully short)

Lightning Bolt's 'Hypermagic Mountain'. It's also one of my favorites.

i heard one song from this new battles cd and instanlly loved it, but i can tell that there will be a fair share of people that will skatter out of the house if i put it on at a party.

On a recent sojourn in wooden cabins in the Scottish countyside with 12 or so friends of mine, I was providing the music and decided to educate the musical cretins with some choice cuts.

On playing "Engrish Bwudd" by Man Man, people were literally throwing things at me! I learned my lesson... people fear change. So I stuck to nothing but the safety of Snow Patrol, REM, Air, Gwen Stefani, The Killers, etc, for the rest of the weekend!

If you played 4 out of those 5, I'd start throwing things at you!
