No one gets people running away faster from me than Bjork.

Some of those high notes are like fingernails on a blackbord.

My friends hate it.

"Your not playin' that harpie again, are ya? I'm leavin'".

Maybe I should get new friends?

Wow, I'd love to see that, sc. Send them to SoCal ASAP. Although I know that you and I love Bjork, I'd love to see all those ninnies running away from the voice of God!

Ninnies indeed. Now you know why I come and talk to you guys.

But it's a great way to get some alone time, and after all, isn't that the best way to listen to Bjork?

She's not exactly a dance party fave, but she does have her twisting moments.

My copy of the Dead C's repent is a nasty party killer. Used to threaten my roommate with it whenever he had annoying people over. He just started listening to Glenn Branca though so its no longer effective.

1. Lou Reed - Metal Machine Music - I don't know how we missed this one. I mean, I love Lou Reed, but actually sitting down and listening to this damn near impossible.

2. Xiu Xiu - Knife Play - This album doesn't just clear rooms, it clears entire city blocks.

3. The Stooges - Funhouse - Although this is one of my top 5 favorite records, I've found that if I ever want assholes out of my room, all I have to do is put this record on. They flee like the yuppie scum that they are. Squares, who needs them?

Glad to see Ritual Tension mentioned. That's a great deconstruction of Hotel California. I Live Here is a decent but forgotten 80s LP too.

Few that would do the job:

Torture Chorus - In the Land of Lullabye (Japanese noise collaboration w/ Mason Jones that's circus music for kids and every parent's nightmare)
Controlled Bleeding - Knees & Bones LP
Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica (Neon Meate Dream of a Octafish alone would do it)
Butthole Surfers - Locust Abortion Technician (U.S.S.A might do it)
Ron Geesin - Raise of Eyebrows/ As He Stands two-fer
The Locust - Plague Soundscapes LP

Don't even need real free jazz.

I've got to say I agree with Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica and The Locust Plague Soundscapes . Too bad I like both of those albums...

I'm also going to add Need New Body's UFO. It's a fucking phenomenal album, but $10 to whoever can get a Dave Matthews fan to enjoy this.

Watch out, joji, I love Matisyahu. That might actually bring me into your living room. But then again, I'm not sure about your sing-along-skills!

What kind of living room? A pop living room? An indie living room? I could send all the indie kids home if I played the latest Britney Spears mostrosity? Or I could let Fiery Furnaces loose in a mainstream McMusic-lovers-meeting living room?
