This is where my daughter "stole" it.

I've listened twice, and even though I've seen him live twice since the last album (one with and one w/o Dosh), this sounds better than I could've imagined. It's not quite as immediately hummable as Production, but it's really spectacular.

It's beautiful. The recording technique and instrumentation really made a leap. I loved Production but I always felt that he sounded too much like a combination of Rufus Wainwright and Final Fantasy. This album is definitely his own thing.
I can't get enough of it.
DAMN. This will be a good year.

I'm listening to it A LOT. Its really good but not THAT good, you know?

He has some great stand out songs: "Darkmatter", "Plasticities", "Scythian Empires".

It might be THAT good because anybody can tell from paying attention to Andy Bird's lyrics that he's MAD (as a hatter). Yeah, Yay (!?), he's been featuring those songs live for about eighteen months now, so they better be good. Cool

That site is awesome! Thanks for the link.

I mean, that's a terrible site because downloading free music is bad . . . mmmkay.

It's really good, but the only songs that are really that catchy - to me - are the first two. The last few might be growers.

"Simple X" is just breathtaking. I think this will stay on the top of my list all year. Unless Radiohead and Bright Eyes really deliver.

After a couple listens, it sounds kind of disappointing to me. But then it took a long time for Mysterious Production of Eggs to grow on me, so maybe this one will too. I just listened to Eggs on my way to school last week and it sounded better than it ever has to me. I moved it into my top 20 of 2005.

After my first two listens, I thought it was spectacular. Now, I just think it's the best album in a very long time. I play it extremely LOUD. Cool

God, I can't wait for the album to come out. I refuse to listen to it before hand, but I'll be the first person in Tampa to buy it, I assure you!

I hope and pray that it doesn't disappoint you!

Andy Bird, who's already my favorite whistler and violinist, turns this album into an electric guitar manifesto, but what turns this new album into something incredibly NEW is that Dosh provides incredible percussion (tons of awesome LIVE drumming), plus quite a bit of electronic goodies.

Andy highlights his newfound love of Oriental and Gothic violin. All in all, this album continues to be MIND-BLOWING. I still love Andy whistling on the back porch. God Bless him for continuing with that. Cool

All of ya'll's hype around this prompted me to pick up Mysterious Production of Eggs, which is damn good. Giving it my first listen right now. I've downloaded the new one, but I want to get more familiar with this first so they don't run together.

I was thinking about going to see Eluvium. I really want to see the Junior Boys (who are playing the same club) as well. Not sure yet if I'll see either. I tend to avoid Ybor City.
