Hey kids. Neon Bible leaked in its entirety over the past 24 hours. Have a listen and let us know what you think.

So far, I REALLY like the new version of No Cars Go and Intervention keeps growing on me like crazy. Such a good song. Too hungover to give a close listen right now.

I have to say, I'm really impressed. They made a followup to Funeral that doesn't stay confined within the first album's sound. It's my favorite album of the year so far.

Agreed. I was setting myself up to be disappointed, but my first impression is that it's a more than worthy follow up to the one of the better albums to come out this century.

I've heard a lot of griping about their not being any real anthemic songs like "Rebellion (Lies)" or "Power Out." That may be true but there isn't a weak song on the album. The quality of the leak is pretty good too (with the exception of Black Waves/Bad Vibrations).

The album was overall unimpressive, imo. But "Antichrist Television Blues" blew me away, along with "No Cars Go". At first "My Body Is a Cage" was really intriguing, but it got kind of boring. It's only 1st listen so we'll se where it goes on 4th and 5th.

I'm not a big Arcade Fire fan, but I think this does sound better than the last one. There's a strong Gospel Blues tinge to some of the songs, especially "My Body is a Cage". Now, my question is: those of you who love this, why didn't you listen to Springsteen's and BRMC's latest albums? Those are also gospel blues of the highest order.

I've only heard 4 songs from this every one of which was INCREDIBLE, but I want to wait until its release to hear the rest.

I just really dislike the sound of this album, at times. Maybe I need to stop listening to it in comparison to "Funeral". Anyways, after two more times listening to it, it's grown on me a little, but it's just not... as good as I hoped.

And I was pretty unimpressed w/ "the Seeger Sessions" too...

I didn't like Funeral all that much and I like this less. They use the same drum pattern in every song. The lyrics are vaguely interesting sometimes but the melodies are monotonous and the songs are far too long for what they are.

Neon Bible is certainly a really good album, but it's not better than the funeral- very little is.

This album is pretty amazing. Not sure quite yet if it beats Funeral (is that possible?) but its making a run at it. I can't get enough of Interventions. What a great song. There will probably be a whole bunch of dissapointed indie brat snobs putting it down (like the new CYHSY). And yes, I did hear a leaked copy...and YES I will be at my local shop by a copy the moment its released (the deluxe copy too!).

What's the difference between the normal version and the deluxe one ? I pre-ordered the normal cd, but I can still change for the deluxe.

"The deluxe CD version is packaged in a hinged box with two 32-page flip books designed by the band." So says Amazon.com

I read some track reviews of the songs that the band leaked out last year and they had said that the songs weren't as urgent or "sincere" sounding as things on Funeral. The fact is the band was mourning the death of a mutual friend with that record. Arcade Fire has moved on from this phase in their respective lives to create something that does not impersonate those emotions. Funeral had a central theme of mourning urgency but it simply wasn't necessary to impersonate that with Neon Bible. Neon Bible is a wholly impressive and cohesive evolution for a band whose life span is far from over.

If that's the video of them and Bowie, then yes, it is pretty amazing. (My favorite unintential humor being Sharon Stone really getting into it and not knowing a single word)

Also, if Heather Graham digs the Arcade Fire, then that's one more thing we can talk about once I marry her. Wink

It's not that video but I did see that one. This one is when the Arcade Fire are in London and Chris Martin (Coldplay) is at the show. Just watch it.

This is not Funeral II. My favourite so far is "Ocean of Noise". Yup, I got the feeling this album is one for the ages.

Ocean of Noise is quickly becoming my favorite as well, Vancea. The way it builds from just that bassline to the joyous noise at the end is amazing.

Also, honor demands that I post the video I talked about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0Ff8dd5iV0

That Bowie performance is sick. I don't know who crazy-blonde-woman-who-doesn't-know-the-lyrics is but it's not Sharon Stone. Also, that's Owen Pallett, aka Final Fantasy on violin, right?

Goosebumps. The "I guess we'll just to adjust" part is just insane.
