Where did you find it? I looked on Soulseek and Googled At Mount Zoomer torrent, but still nothing. If you could send it to me, that would be fantastic.

1. "Soldier's Grin" (Boeckner) -- (4:38)
2. "Call It a Ritual" (Krug) -- (2:47)
3. "Language City" (Boeckner) -- (5:03)
4. "Bang Your Drum" (Krug) -- (3:12)
5. "California Dreamer" (Krug) -- (6:02)
6. "The Grey Estates" (Boeckner) -- (3:28)
7. "Fine Young Cannibals" (Boeckner) -- (6:33)
8. "An Animal in Your Care" (Krug) -- (4:21)
9. "Kissing the Beehive" (Boeckner / Krug) -- (10:46)

Cover art? http://wolfparade.nonstuff.com/2007/08/23/cover-art/

After one listen:

"Soldier's Grin" (opening track), "Language City" and "Fine Young Cannibals" are excellent tracks.

No dud on the album, (which is impressive 'cause I usually give out at least one "dud" per great album) although the 10 minute closer "Kissing the Beehive" could've been shorter.

I'm going to buy this album the day it comes out, that's for sure. A must buy for Wolf Parade fans, and for casual fans, like myself, this album is still worth it. (8.3/10*)
*one listen isn't enough to judge an album, but that's the rating I'll give it after a listen anyway, 'cause I know some people out there like seeing ratings.

1st listen thoughts...

I thought the Spencer Krug tunes on the first Wolf Parade were stronger, but man, Boeckner steals the show here. The Dan Boeckner songs on this new Wolf Parade are freaking awesome. Personally, I really like the Handsome Furs album, much more than any Spencer Krug project so this doesn't surprise me.
I know some of you Sunset Rubdown fans will disagree, but since the first Wolf Parade album, Spencer Krug is yet to write anything as great as "You are a Runner and I am my Father's Son", "Dear Sons and Daughters of Hungry Ghosts", or "I'll Believe in Anything" which is one of the best songs of the decade.

Definitely agree, because, as stated above, my favorite 3 tracks on the album were all Boeckner tracks.

This thing seems to be holding up after repeated listens so far.

Oh, and "The Grey Estates" is the 4th best track on the album...chalk up another one for Boeckner.

Agreed. The 4 Boeckner tracks are better than any Krug tune. And, I love the closer, all 10+ minutes. What a great album ender.

Yes, it was me. You all just do not get it; these forums do not condone nor support illegal downloading. We can’t stop you from filling page after page about the hot new album that leaked and thus turning off so many solid members that are disgusted by it but you know what I mean. Don't post stupid, not funny hints on where to get it, don't give the direct name, don't tell someone how to bypass everything using a search engine, don't. I can't make things clearer than that. If you are all confused, take a gander at the "Forum Policies and Guidelines."

Learn how to use the PM feature. And maybe you all think it is hilarious to mock or poke fun at the rules but it isn't. You all know the rules, they are clearer than ever. If you want to push it, I would advise against it. I’m a nice guy but this is really getting hackneyed.

Just a quick note: can't we change the title of this thread to reflect the correct title? Just thinking that we should change it to "Wolf Parade - At Mount Zoomer" right?

I'm happy. Hope you're happy too.

Huh? What "solid members" are so turned off by our behavior?

Non-sequitor?

Who did what? Someone said they looked on slsk and couldn't find it... not that it's not on slsk (which it is but he doesn't realize a key thing about this leak... a key thing that is keeping me from even bothering with this "leak").

I'm guessing you've deleted posts? Or...?

That was me who said they couldn't find it on Soulseek. I was expecting to get a PM from somebody, which I did. I would never post a link, or expect someone to post a link to where it was. Not again. Haha.

FKA, I respect the forum rules and don't mind you wiped out the posts about where to find the leak. No, we didn't directly link to where to get it which is what I understood the rules to be, but yes, we described where to find it. If you could just delete the posts and say sorry guys you can't do that we'd happily move on.
But when you have to throw on top:

I mean, give me a freaking break. If you have opinions about the state of these forums, comment where its appropriate, but when you moderate and talk shit in the same breath you come across as condescending and rub us all the wrong way.
As a moderator you need to learn to lose the attitude or you'll risk losing many more "solid members."

JGlass, what's up with the leak? My download sounds good, its 192kbps. No official artwork, but other than that sounds like the real deal.

Can we link to a site that tells us where to find the leak but doesn't directly link to it? Hahaha, sorry, I'm bored.

Honestly, what is the deal with the sanctimonious nonsense on this forum?

People are disgusted by the notion of downloading music illegally? Really, guys? I'd make a joke about my grandmother apparently being a member, but I'm pretty sure her views on the issue are much more liberal.

I get the responsibility that mods have to reinforce the official anti-piracy position that forums like this are bound to uphold. But wow. Ever thought that this sort of prudish, self-righteous tone might be one of the reasons that there isn't exactly a constant avalanche of activity here?

How about "Hey guys, seriously don't post that shit in here. It could get the whole forum in trouble. I'm not trying to tell anybody what's right, but show a little discretion."

Instead, forum kids are suddenly "disgusted" by illegal music downloading. You can not be fucking serious.

************************************end rant***

I sure do like Wolf Parade. I have not heard the new album yet, but I'm looking forward to it. I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion, but I vastly prefer Dan's contributions (and side projects) to Spencer's. Krug has a certain bug-eyed romanticism that can work for me in a big way at times, (Stadiums and Shrines) and really NOT work at others (when he hews closer to Frog Eyes).

Dan brings a triumphant, saw-toothed almost punk sensibility to the music. I REALLY like it. I even like his hand tattoo.

I'm pretty sure the drop in activity in the forums has more to do with a slow start to '08 (at least to the minds of some) and a lack of big news items. But it's true that these piracy vs. anti-piracy arguments are pretty pointess. I mean, the artists themselves have come to grips with it, can't we?

I guess it's just one of those arguments that will happen, no matter how much both parties realize neither is right about anything. Same thing with the indie=independent label vs indie=genre argument.
