Interpol. They're as good as the say, the Earth. Arcade Fire is really good too though. As good as, maybe, another Earth-like planet in another solar system, but with less oil in it or some such quibble.

Hmmm…I’m not too sure why you would pit these two bands in a poll against each other. I don’t really listen to Funeral that much anymore but Neon Bible is one of my favorite albums of the year, so far. I do however, like both of Interpol’s albums very much. I will hold on to my vote to see what Interpol’s new album sounds like.

This is a really tough one for me.
But I'm gonna pick the Arcade Fire for two reasons:
1) While I think Turn on the Bright Lights is better than Funeral (but not by much at all, they are 2 of the best albums I've ever heard), I think Neon Bible is much better than Antics. So of the two albums released, AF barely wins there.
2) Arcade Fire's live show is a religious experience. It will nearly bring you to tears. Interpol, on the other hand, is really good, but not 'life changing' or anything like that.
I really do love both bands though, two of my favorites.

Really? Over a poll? Well I am reporting this one to pE, LT and mark so I would be concerned if I were you.

First, I picked Arcade Fire too. But, I haven't heard Neon Bible yet ( ) wherein I have heard Antics (mediocre.) I have heard the Arcade Fire EP though, and just going on what I got Arcade Fire wins pretty easy, I'd have to hate Neon Bible a lot to side with Interpol. quote: 2) Arcade Fire's live show is a religious experience. This is true. I saw them January '05 on their Funeral tour, probably the second best band I've ever seen live (after Explosions In The Sky.) The energy...and really I guess it comes down to a lot of preference too. Joy Division's a good band but I only listened to them a lot when I was really depressed. So I just naturally favor the really youthful, optimistic sounds and themes of Funeral, which was maybe my favorite album for a bit.

I really like both bands a lot, so it's not that I don't like Interpol, because I do. I just think that Arcade Fire is one of the more emotionally engaging and exciting bands in some time. Great songwriting, really fun live show - hard to beat.

Arcade Fire, because they're not dull.
------ Aren't there any girls out their who like good music? I need to and want to meet them. My favorite bands are Overkill River, The Nife, Songs:Ohio, and Nuetral Milk Hotel. Please let me know if your into indy music and like to go to show's and drink beer's and makeout.

Wait, I like Arcade Fire a bit better, because I think they have greater range. But in no way should Interpol be called dull. They very nicely channel the early post-punk sound, and, with the Rapture, are largely responsible for the neo-post-Punk sound. I think Arcade Fire ultimately has the potential for greater musical growth than Interpol, largely because of their more creative instrumentation.

I don't understand the kind of comparison made here, considering the two groups are radically different. That being said, I voted Interpol because I haven't had any desire to revisit either of Arcade Fire's albums, and I barely got through Neon Bible the first time I heard it.

Funeral > TOTBL > Antics > Neon Bible
I would have to pick Arcade Fire overall. Funeral was one of those albums I just connected with, you know? TOTBL's best tracks compete with Funeral, but it just can't sustain the latter's greatness.

What's all this Neon Bible hate? It's my number one album of the year (NB or Boxer or Hissing Fauna, though NP's Challengers may win). Which are the NB tracks that "miss"? I think the album is incredibly solid, and the only track I think is subpar is "No Cars Go".
