I dont know if you guys have heard of this group or record, but this CD is effing amazing! A front woman who rocks hard as hell and can also sing (hello, Karen O?). If you guys can imagine liking bille holiday fused with the yeah yeah yeahs you'd really enjoy this record. It's my second favorite of the year, after 23 of course.

I saw them open for TV on the Radio, and it was a good show. Lots of energy, like you said, and the singer was pretty sassy. I dunno, though, the music sounded pretty generic to me. Not bad, just didn't stand out.

it is a tad generic, I mean they are signed to universal motown. however, the album is solid from start to finish and none of the songs sound too similar. there are a couple songs at the end of the album that start of slow and build to rocking climaxes. cool stuff.

I listened to it once and I liked it. I'll wait to explain why I liked it until I listen more and can actually form a valid opinion

I also caught them live opening for TVOTR. They had a pretty good thing going live. Lots of engergy and the Karen O comparisons are spot on. I can't say a single one of their songs was that great, however. Not unlike Fever to Tell era Yeah Yeah Yeahs (minus "Maps"), its mostly attitude and average songs.

Very nice debut album. Definitely lots of energy (maybe too much all at once? I dunno). On a few tracks, I thought for a second they were about to launch into something funky sounding, but it didn't happen. I would have loved to hear them change the pace with a funk thing on a couple or more tracks.
