Since there are so few reviews of the new Joan of Arc, and I'm interested in peoples opinions of it, I though that I'd start a discussion.
So, I like it. It's different from tim's others, but similar in other ways. The dense instrumentation from all sorts of people is really cool to me. Like wise, the more sparse songs are also apealing to me. And of course, there's a little bit of provocative protools work for good measure. Basically, I feel like it's very consistent throughout, regardless of what their doing (and that goes for the talking tracks too). Tim seems to be, generally speaking, holding back on being ridiculous with his lyrics and his voice, which I appreciate. This is the best that I've heard joa since (my personal favorite) Live in Chicago, 1999.
So, the discussion has begun; will the Tim firestorm begin?
(edited so it makes freaking sense now)

but sadly i do not know why the hell cheney is involved. some of the lyrics seem like they might have a political bend to them, but with tim is pretty impossible to tell what he means.
so thank you for your joa interest.
