My name is Joe Arcticacre and last tuesday I was walking home from the cement plant. No, I dont work there, but I enjoy watching them crush rock, small shards flung out as far as half a mile sometimes.

Back to my point, I was walking home when I decided to make up two bands in my head:

The Swirlocs
and
Jerry Dane

The Swirlocs are this old style rockabilly band, but instead of guitars they use only keyboards and the main band members dont have fingers, cause they all met at the fish canning plant.

Jerry Dane is a heavy metal soloist who plays all the instruments himself. And has to run from instrument to instrument, which makes for very stilted listening.

So which badn do you enjoy most? How many of you have bought albums from these bands? Are you groupies of either band?

Thanks, Joe Arcticacre

Definitely the Swirlocs, I'm not too hot on heavy metal.

That is maybe the most bizarre post I have ever seen on these forums. Pretty funny too.

Great to see so many replies for and against these bands. Although one poster did note that one of the members of the Swirlocs, the left side keyboard player does have one finger. He keeps it in his pocket, right breast, with a button pinned to the nail.

The button says "born to ducks and to ducks I die".

Has anyone heard the Swirlocs third album? I think they have a few songs about being loved by and loving ducks.

I, Joe Arcticacre, would love to see them if someone could post the the lyrics in this forum.

Personally, I'm partial to the title track from Jerry Dane's album The Nonsensical Ramblings of People Who Refer To Themselves in the Third Person.

wow....I knew Jerry Dane's mother had an album called The Students Who Forgot to Reference Rambled to the Shore and Baked Things,

but I did not know about that Jerry Dane Album.

Does anyone have an MP3 or something to share off that album.

I did hear rumors that he is coming to the Grand Spuno Theater downtown in March.

Can I get a ride with anyone?

I think the Salmonella Hand Towels are opening that Grand Spuno show.

I'll pick you up outside Shakey's Pizza at 7:43. I'll be driving the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile. Or a Saab.

Really? I had a bad experience at the last S.H.T concert. They were throwing small sample cans of Jumbo's spoon-fed steamed buns and I lept to catch one. Well I didnt leap, I'm jsut saying that to appear more athletic than I really am. I cant leap. Ok...so that is why I hate S.H.T. so much.

I mean you have to leap at their concerts.

Ok...yeah..pick me up at Shakey's. And I will just wait outside until Jerry Dane plays.

Oh and seriously Eric, dont drive the Saab. I dont trust the Swedish. In fact I dont even think they make the Saab cars, which makes me trust them even less.

Hey I'll make a mix tape for the ride over and bring snacks, delicious snacks for the road.
