What do you guys think of this particulary harsh genre. I'm a relatively new listener, but a lot of the music is extremely intriguing. Also, I'm sure most of you are well-acquainted with NIN, but I'm talking more about bands like Skinny Puppy and VNV Nation. Just wondering.

I like what I've heard of Foetus.

Also, Nine Inch Nails is my favorite artist. Beyond that and a few Ministry albums (which I enjoy a lot) the genre is unknown to me.

Can you describe the genre to me...All I know of it is NIN, and I don't even know much about that band. I just picture some gothic, grungey, electronic-based music, but I don't know if that is accurate at all.

Basically the intensity and darkness of metal except with a large focus on synths, sampling, and dance beats.

The best way to describe the harshest, least listenable Industrial is, quite literally, white noise. Most music for consumption is toned down quite a bit from that.
