They have a new album coming out, titled "Midnight Boom" (No release date or cover art yet).

A single and video have already been released.

Not too impressed with the new video, but I'm addicted to the single, "U R A Fever".

I also enjoy, and highly recommend there first 2 albums, "Keep On Your Mean Side", and "No Wow" if you've yet to listen to them.

I was surprised to find they've gotten little attention on the metacritic forums.

I think they're very underrated.
(I'm sure some of you might reply with "her vocals are too PJ Harvey-influenced", or "There's bands who do what they do better" or something. But come on, they do have SOME original thoughts.)

Anyways, enough rambling.

Anyone love (or NOT love) The Kills?

I enjoyed the first two albums quite a bit, and I'm looking forward to this one. Not expecting anything groundbreaking though...

I'm gonna bump this.

Anyways,

I think "Midnight Boom" is total of-the-minute originality.

NO band, right now, sounds like them.

It's a scuzzy, fun, dark, sexy indie rock album.

Anyone else listening?

I have been wanting to give this album a listen. In the latest issue of Paste, it was tagged with as an "Editor's Pick." However, I can't it find it anywhere in town, I'll keep looking though.

I love this album. I can see it easily getting on my year end list. Be Your Own Pet is a good comparison for their earlier albums.

riiiight.
