People tend to want to discuss albums they like. I'm not really sure why someone would want to list five albums that you shouldn't listen to, unless they were just trying to start a fight.

can we change it to albums that you dont necessarily hate, but would glady take your money back for...

for me, it's anything by Wilco, My Morning Jacket, and Frog Eyes.

I bought the Exploding Hearts "Guitar Romantic" because of the pitchforked hype surrounding it. This was back a couple years when I thought Pitchfork was infallible. I listened to it maybe twice, didn't do much for me.

Another two dumb purchases I made were both Walt Mink's albums "Colossus" and "El Producto." Once again, my then mantra-philosophy of "if you come to a pitchfork in the road: take it" proved disastrous as both these albums are pretty dull and nothing to write emails home about.

oh i never intended to start fights with this thread. i just wanted to know if there are any albums out there that people should think twice about before purchasing... albums that are hyped by critics but are not necessarily good to the ears of a typical person.

i like sh6ne's suggestion.

That's the reaction of many people for EVERY album (just different people and different albums), but in your case, how mant times did you listen to the whole thing?

Is there really any difference between this thread and the umpteen other "so-and-so is overrated" or "I don't get..." threads?

Another excuse to poop on music that isn't your cup of tea?

A word to anyone who hasn't listened to any of these:
I can understand saying that these should be approached with caution, but I'd like to say that these should definitely be checked out... they might just become your favorite bands 3V3RRRR!!!!!!

I like them an awful lot.

I am in perfect agreement with you, except on Bejar to some degree.

I hate threads like this (and there's around 10 variations of the same thread elsewhere on these forums.) I'll summarize the next 3 pages of posts right here and save everyone some time.

Post 1: I don't like Animal Collective or Wolf Parade.

Post 2: You're nuts, they're my favorite. I don't like Joanna Newsome.

Post 3: You're crazy, I love her. But man that Danielson album sure sucked.

Post 4: You the one who sucks. He's great, way better than Sufjan. He's so boring.

Post 5: Piss off, I love Sufjan. I don't like Liars, though.

Post 6: You have terrible taste in music. Liars rule. I can't believe they're opening for Interpol. That's who sucks.

Post 7: I love Interpol..
