I'm not at all interested in this record, or any of his past efforts. But Cokemachineglow's review made me laugh so damn much, it was a crime not to share it with you people.

The reviewer said it himself- it's a "tantrum," not a review. Did Conor Oberst steal his girlfriend or something?

Seems like an irrational reaction to the artist Oberst at least used to be. I was all for hating him then, but this just looks to me like the reviewer was saying "Well, he sucked then, gonna go ahead and say he sucks now."

I don't think it was much of a review. It was a just a lyrical spanking of his past and current works. Hilariously written (bad) and wildly hilarious.

Am I the only one who thought they were affiliated with p4k way back in the day because of the similarities?

Eh. It's all in good fun. Cokemachineglow is like p4k on steriods... which is hilarious. Back to the record, does anyone like it?

I dont yet own it, but I like the 6 songs he has streaming on My Space. Relaxed, but rocking. Not too serious (and he CAN be a little serious). I have to say I am a fan.

Relaxed and rocking in the sense of, mayhaps... The National? Matt Berringer's baritone kicks my ass.

Yeah rocking. In the sense of Dylan, Van Morrison, Neil Young, etc. Remember rock does not have to be hard rock. In particular in the sense of Elliot Smith or Gram Parsons. (Not saying anything about how good he is in comparison)

To the review. I reckon I could get any album, find a lyric, and send it up. Its a cheap shot.

I would say the record is pretty enjoyable, but not great. I really liked Sausolito, Lenders in the temple, and cape canaverel, but there were some pretty crappy songs too. It may make my top 30 list anyway, we shall see.
