Is anyone else made unconditionally happy simply by putting this album on? This is just joyful music, all around. I can't stop smiling. I hope their live show is as amazing as it sounds like it could be on the album. Thoughts?

I picked this up a few weeks back, and I seriously don't know what I think of it. Sometimes it's clever and cute, other times it annoys me. I'm on the fence.

Which songs hit you hardest, in limbo? I'll try your faves and see if it grows on me.

Right now, I'm thinking the first half of the album is impeccable, with the second half not quite as good.

Of those, though, I think my favorites are Brother, Complete or Completing, and Carry Around. I think part of the reason I love this album is the drumming (as I am a drummer) - it is recorded very well and incorporates many interesting polyrhythms throughout the album that help propel the songs to the next level.

I dunno, I might just be on a happy music kick, though.

I'm with pE on this one. Sometimes it's great and other times not so much.

I find that the best songs are scattered. A few are really awesome tracks. I think those are: Brother, Fair, Sway and Father. I think Fair and Sway are the best two, even though they are similar songs.

Considering how young these guys are, I see good things in their future. They are like a young Broken Social Scene to me, with maybe a little more emphasis on primitive drumming (a la Animal Collective).

Of course, that's just my take on it.

It's a really diverse and sonically interesting album and you know it's a case where their next one will be even better, judging from the eclectic tastes of the members.
