Yep. Very good album. My favorite tracks are "Kid On My Shoulders", "The Plot" and "While We Go Dancing".

I agree with eric about the favorite tracks. They were the first I heard and they gripped me immediately. It definitely is one exciting listen that deserves to be heard by more people. Different sounds and the piano and drum playing on this album are pretty great.

One listen through and I have to agree, it's pretty solid. I'm going to give it a few more spins, and I wouldn't be surprised if this became a favorite. For some reason (probably the name) I kept thinking these guys were trying for The Shins-type music, but it's more energetic and harder than that.

I agree that the piano and drumming/percussion are very cool on this album.

These guys are great. They have a much more interesting and eclectic sound than most of the typical indie garage rock sort.

I agree with the comments about the drum work on this album. I think the drum work rivals The National "Boxer" for the best this year.

I think they sound a little like the Cold War Kids? A lot of piano, and very good drumwork.

Speaking of the White Rabbits, the National, (and Spoon, Modest Mouse, etc.), Letterman has been PIMPING the indie rock lately. The White Rabbits were great last week, but Spoon still has to be my favorite appearance so far.

Or could it be that indie has finally found its way into the mainstream?

Leno and Letterman (and all the others) have been featuring these types of bands for many years now.

I don't know about Leno so much. Every time I tune into his show, he's got a very crappy musical guest. Letterman and Conan book some pretty hip bands though.

I've noticed bands that I like on Letterman and Conan from time to time, but it seems every time I tune Letterman in recently he's got somebody good. For me, it's not surprising that he's had Spoon or even The National, but for the White Rabbits to make it this quickly was pretty surprising.

He had Tapes N' Tapes and Deadboy and the Elephantmen on last year before it seemed like anyone was talking about them. I believe White Rabbits are from NY too, so they may be generating more buzz there than in the rest of the US.

I'm not blown away by this yet. It's got some great elements, but does it all amount to greatness?

Love the youthful enthusiasm here, Sinister. It's making me laugh at myself (not at you). I used to claim a lot of things were "best ever!", but it always changed and I was always embarassed of myself (not saying that you will be). It used to be "Aerosmith is the best band ever!!". Then it was "Blue Rodeo is the best band ever!!!". It even went so far as a friend and I writing a note to ourselves for the future; "if at any time in your life you stopped listening to Kid A, I have permission to kick your ass. It is the best album ever!!!!". Seriously, that's what we wrote. Now I don't know if I should be sad because I don't get that excited anymore or happy that I don't put too much weight behind things, making it easier for me to develop/change. Either way, your post made me laugh and reminded me of what I used to be a lot like.
