Fishnet stockings, glittery/lacey tops, tight pants/booty shorts/elaborate dresses, lipstick, eye shadow, eye liner, face glitter and bling all seem to be the biggest fashion fad for... boys?!

Question:
Indie boys of this year are queering it up, and we can't seem to get enough of it. Who is your favourite fashion king (queen?) of 2007?

Patrick Wolf

Kevin Barnes (Of Montreal)

Devendra Banhart

Choices:
Patrick Wolf
Kevin Barnes (Of Montreal)
Devendra Banhart

Voted for Mr. Barnes. Saw Of Montreal back in February, sadly before he started whipping it out Frowner Not like he's really hot or anything, celebrity nudity just fascinates me. When I saw Devendra a while back he was not very glam at all Frowner And I haven't given Patrick Wolf much of a chance yet. I just like Of Montreal's music the most.

Voted Kevin Barnes because the cross-dressing is just about the LEAST weird thing in their live show.

I seem to remember David Bowie doing this about 30 years ago. Kevin seems the most genuinely unhinged in the bunch, and sincerity counts for a lot if you're going to glam.

I do like Patrick Wolf's album, though. It took some time to grow on me, but Magic Position is a solid piece of work.

Kevin's got a unique style, and keeps it pretty interesting. Though Patrick is in the Burberry ads...

Kevin just has too much star power right now, and I love Hissing Fauna so he gets the vote. I almost voted Wolf because he's kind of morphed into the indeal underdog to me lately, but Magic Position hasn't quite solidified for me yet so...

From the latest pfk "Puritan Blister" (#29):
Setting: Bryan Ferry and Bob Dylan are stuck in an elevator together.

VARIATION EIGHT

(An hour of silence.)

BRYAN: Of Montreal dresses just like Roxy used to, down to Eno's feathers. Do kids think it's new, I wonder?

ROBERT: Hell of a jazz festival up in Montreal.

(An hour of silence. The elevator door opens. They do not move.)

Wait, are we talking about the music or the vogueing? 'Cuz if it's the music, for me: of Montreal = Patrick Wolf >>> Devendra.

I did see a photo of Patrick Wolk in Spin that makes him look like a demented Boy Scout.

of Montreal equal to Patrick Wolf? Hmm.. should I check out his previous releases? I thought his new one was good but a bit.. well, I like it in small doses (esp. when I have my mp3 player on random and he comes on, then I like his songs a lot, but not sitting down and listening to the entire album)

I like Magic Position nearly as much as Hissing Fauna. Sinister likes it better. I think of Montreal's back catalogue is superior, though.

Am I missing something, or is this gibberish?

Couldn't tell you about his previous releases. They're not on iTunes. Maybe check patrick wolf's website (if I'm not mistaken, www.patrickwolf.com) and see if they're there.
Now, if we're going to talk "The Magic Position", that's in my top 5.
