It should come as no surprise that the new BORIS came out. That's BORIS, not Boris (apparently there IS a difference), and the album seems to be getting better as i keep listening and listening. I got the leak of the Japanese version a while ago and bought the American version just the other day. I find Boris to be possibly the best band in the game right now (though perhaps they are considered "Metal" to most), and was wondering if people dig this album as much as i do, and basically which version of the album you feel is better?

Basically, between the two albums, there's an exceptional version of each song and, in the case of "Statement" and "Message," two exceptional versions of the same (basic) song.

No one seems to be talking this album up right now, which i feel is a shame because they're the most monster three-piece i can think of off the top of my head (I'll think of someone else right after i post this)

I'm in the minority that thinks the US version is better, really just because the Japanese version is mixed really oddly in parts. Both great, don't get me wrong, but there's more urgency in the American version.

I've only heard the Japanese version, but I'm trying to get my hands on the U.S. one. So I'll get back to you.

Is it really a minority that likes the U.S. version better? I prefer the U.S. version quite a bit, it's much louder to me and mixed better. Plus, the version of "Laser Beam" on the U.S. version ("Shoot!") i feel is leaps and bounds better (i may have mixed the names up, I don't have my iPod handy).

Anyway, i don't understand some of the mixed reviews of this album. I think Smile is a great departure from Pink and, though not quite at the same level, acts as a kind of stepping-stone to something potentially spectacular in the future.

I've only heard the Japanese version but I do like it very much.

I just gave the U.S. version my first listen, but my initial impression is that I actually prefer the Japanese version for it's rawer, dirtier, unrestrained essence.
