Let's not jump... to conclusions.

You see, there's this mat..

Sorry, thought I'd drag it to another equally dead thread... Wink

I think all three sound decent enough. "Heinrich Maneuver" sounds a little too much like their past work, but at least it's a short track. The other two sound good. It's hard to gauge anything from live performances though. Studio work can be totally different.

I just got home from seeing Interpol. What a great show. THey played 4 new songs from their upcoming album. My only complaint is their lack of interaction with the crowd. But I guess I bought the ticket to hear them play...not talk. ANyways, amazing show.

The album cover for Our Love to Admire is released. A definate improvement over their past art.

Just to weigh in on the Antics vs. Bright Lights. I think the first record had the better singles, but the second was a stronger album-- and it certainly wasn't rehashing the first record. That being said, I'm a "singles" kinda guy, so if I'm in the mood for the Pol, I usually grab the first one.

I don't like the album's title and the title tracks, so it makes me less anxious. Title tracks like "Evil", "Narc" and "Not even jail" are just perfect, but it's srtange to hear 'Rest My Chemistry' by Interpol. Bad sign... Frowner

It makes you "less anxious" and it is a "bad sign" just because you don't like the name of the album and titles to some of the songs? Roll Eyes

That seems a bit strange, egg. Kind of an odd reason to be concerned.

I have to admit that I'm not entirely fond of "Heinrich Maneuver" (the first single), but the other two live tracks posted on this thread somewhere sounded pretty good.

Past track names like "Say Hello to Angels", "Take You on a Cruise", "Length of Love" don't especially scream cool either. I'd wait to hear the tunes.

I know it seems strange, it's just a bad feeling. It happened with other records. When the title tracks are great on an album and the follower doesn't have great title tracks, there are some chances that the follower would be less interesting... Am I the only one who cares about that kind of details? ...

I like this record. It's still brooding and dark, but it doesn't seem hopeless. It reminds me of the sun about to break through the clouds on a gray day, except that it never quite does. The resulting tension, particularly tangible in the driving rhythms, is very exciting.
